A New Website Supports the Network Growth of Faith to Action Network(F2AN)

Faith to Action Network is a global interfaith network with members from Baháí, Buddhist, Christian, Confucian, Hindu, Muslim, and African Traditional religions. The Network promotes mutual learning and increased interfaith collaboration between religious organizations as well as faith-based organizations, governments, and other stakeholders to advance family health and well-being; women’s rights and gender justice; and peaceful, just, and inclusive communities. They amplify faith voices, conduct advocacy, and communicate messages for change, including social and behavioral change.

Digital Storytelling Africa was well acquainted with their work and eager to help their team refresh an outdated website to better serve the network’s growth. Their Communications team wanted to be able to update or add content to the site without a developer’s help. They also shared a large bank of fantastic images of their work, but those images were gathering dust without a more modern site design to showcase them.

We built them a bold, modern website to spread the word about all of their programs, impact, and rich history. And, best of all, the new site makes it easy for their team to add or update content on the site as needed. They no longer have to run to a developer every time they need to make a small change!

Website Features
Aside from a kid-friendly design to show off their mission and heartwarming photos, the new F2AN website is packed with helpful features for their expansive community.
• Ensured a consistent visual language on the new site by introducing fixed styles in templates and ensuring consistency in fonts, formatting, icons, images, and layout techniques.
• The new look and feel should be adapted to the homepage, sections, subsections, and the following components of the site: article template, resource webpage template, publication/guidance webpage template, country story webpage template, and event webpage template.
• Most recent content on the site is captured automatically on the homepage in an organized way following specific categories, tags, or other custom taxonomies.
• All section and subsection webpages with functionalities to guarantee the display of the latest information on that section and sub-section (news, resources, publication/guidance, country stories, events).
• Add feed links;
• Responsive design – an approach that makes web pages render well on a variety of devices and window or screen sizes from minimum to maximum display size
• Multiple page styles and custom post types;
• Multiple Language options feature;
• Search function by the news, type of publication/guidance, type of resource, events, country, story, and issue;
• Search resources by free text;
• Interactive map;
• Signup for the latest news;
• Link the site with other platforms such as YouTube and other microsites.

Outcome
By implementing these features and more, we created a beautiful, user-friendly website to support the F2AN audience and Network and grow their mission and Network. We’re looking forward to seeing their team put the site to work to grow their network and programs for many years to come!
